Colusa Indian Community Council Compton Diversion – Completed October 2015

The Colusa Indian Community Council (CICC) Compton diversion fish screen project was completed in October 2015. The Compton diversion is located on the Sacramento River approximately nine (9) miles north of Colusa and was funded by a 50-50 split between the CVPIA Anadromous Fish Screen Program (AFSP) administered by the Bureau of Reclamation (BOR) and CICC. This two pump diversion is capable of pumping 22.23 cubic feet per second.

New self-cleaning cone fish screens were placed at the entrance of the existing intake channel to the pump station and then connected to the existing pumping plant via an underground pipeline. This installation eliminated the need for CICC to maintain the off-river intake channel allowing normal pumping operations to continue into the future. All environmental permitting and compliance was obtained prior to on-site construction activities.

This project will be monitored for one year to assure it performs as designed and CICC can continue their normal pumping operations.
